If you are looking for a relaxing stay, you can only choose the Whitepod Hotel. Completely surrounded by the nature, in the heart of the Swiss Alps, it’s the perfect place for an escape from the chaos of the city. Forget the usual hotel rooms, here you can stay in the pods, real spheres made up of a network of triangles that create a self-supporting structure.
The philosophy of the resort is mainly based on the sustainability of the environment and the reduction of waste. The use of two basic goods, such as water and energy, is controlled, all products served at breakfast and in the restaurant come from local producers and the sue of the car is limited. By choosing this eco-luxury hotel, you actively supports its ecological mission!
The pods can only be reached by foot, in just 10 minutes from the reception. At check-in, you’ll be provided with a backpack with everything you need, including a map and two torches, so you can move around even after sunset. Being completely surrounded by nature, you won’t find the light of the city. Coming back to the pod after an excellent dinner at Les Cerniers (the resort’s restaurant located close to the reception), the torches helped us!
Also, during check-in, the staff will be happy to show you the many activities the hotel offers, including massages and mountain bike rentals. In winter, you can’t miss a dog sled ride. All the proposed activities are subject to charge (find the rates on the site), except for the sauna, which is located inside a small SPA in the area dedicated to the pods. The first floor of the same building is used as a breakfast room, while on the second floor there is an “honesty bar” open 24 hours a day.
Staying in nature is not bad at all. In the evening, on the small terrace in front of our pod, we enjoyed a privileged view over a sky full of stars. The following morning, we could certainly not miss a dawn that left us speechless. Our experience at Whitepod hotel has been definitely amazing!
